Michelle is missing the iDisk menu in the Finder Go menu (for a reason as yet unknown - it seems to be there for everyone else, including me). nospam has no need for that menu item and would like to get rid of it. Changing the visibility of the iDisk item in the Finder sidebar has no effect on the iDisk item in Finder's Go menu. To answer the question, Finder has several hidden preferences to hide certain menu items or features, which form part of the "Restricted Finder" that can be enabled via parental controls. You can disable these features individually, e.g. using TinkerTool 4.1 (free): Connect to server Go to iDisk Eject Burn disc Go to folder Restart Shutdown Michelle probably has the hidden preference set to disable Go to iDisk, and nospam can set that preference to get rid of his iDisk menu. -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz

Another interesting difference between Michelle's and my "Go Menu" is that she appears to have "Select Startup Disk on Desktop" as default. I have "Enclosing Folder" as default and have to use the shift key to see her setup. I've never paid attention to this stuff, but I think I can make an argument for leaving the iDisk icon in the "Go menu". There are menu item selections to see someone else's whole iDisk if they are naive enough to give you member name and password or just their iDisk public folder with their member name. This feature could be useful in some situations. leo

Or the two of them could just exchange menus. :-) -- Wes Groleau How To Get Along in School http://Ideas.Lang-Learn.us/barrett?itemid=1611
