How much are Vodafone et al charging for the iPad plans? The US plans
were supposed to be "cheap" - did Apple get the UK carriers to play
similar ball?

Orange are charging $STUPID for the contracts, or the weekly plans:

s>

2/day (200M) or 15/Month for 3GB (plus 750MB of wifi - huh?)

I think with that and 100 to get a 3G iPad, I think I am happy with the
50 mifi at 7.50 for 5GB/Month

No idea but I expect it will be the same as their 'mobile broadband'
offerings but with an up-front charge for supplying a microSIM card
instead of you buying one of their dongles.

Orange has some affiliated Wifi hotspots, which you would usually have
to pay for as you use them. With that SIM you get free usage. That
link says they're the BT OpenZone network.

Couldn't one stick the Mifi SIM (after trimming/getting it as a
microSIM) into the iPad?

Or did Apple lock the iPad to Orange, after all? I thought they were
not carrier locked.

3 gigs doesn't seem like much per month.

That makes more sense.
