From: Mark on 2 Apr 2010 08:33 I bought a TeckNet 1900mAH external battery for my iPhone 3G. Amazon link <http://bit.ly/c2mnn0> 12 (+2.75 p&p) Works as advertised. I get 1 or 1.25 charges out of it. In a very unscientific test (from 0% charge in iPhone), it charges the iPhone to 50% in about 40 minutes, 75% in 1 hour 20 minutes, and 96% in 2 hours 15 minutes. There's probably a reason charging slows down later on, although I don't know why that is. I don't know if there'd be any benefit in charging to only 50% or 75% and then using the phone till it drains again. Some reviewers seem to get 2 full charges out of it. They might - I have had slightly differing results. It's almost exactly half the size of the iPhone, although a couple of millimetres thicker. It weighs slightly less than half an iPhone. Apparently it discharges quicker if you use it attached. The battery charges from mains/Mac in about half an hour or so. Regardless, a useful (and cheapish) gizmo for a day out photographing/GPSing/streaming radio etc. Cheers ... Mark

It would need /some/ form of reinforcing if used "vigorously" I would say.. Cheers ... Mark

Mine doesn't work well I get a "This device does not support charging" (or something similar) without warning and the phone does not charge. -- Geoff Berrow (Put thecat out to email) It's only Usenet, no one dies.
