KDE4.3.5 is working just fine and i can't see anything in KDE4.4 that would bring me to update my stable desktop. Look here to see if 4.4.x brings anything that you need that 4.3.5 doesn't have: http://www.kde.org/ -- Chris Maaskant

I would assume it depends on what you are doing with the desktop. My ex used kde4.2 without any problems but all she did was use the Internet and play music.

For me that's KDE4.3.5 right now. It's stable and does everything i want it to do. If i would use something else, say XFCE for example, and i would run all the KDE programs i'm using now, i would end up with an 90% KDE desktop again :s So i'll stick with the default KDE that openSUSE offers me. -- Chris Maaskant

Don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading. -- Chris Maaskant

It IS available in the Build service: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/UNSTABLE:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.2 but as it needs a QT upgrade it will stay in UNSTABLE (4.3 is the stable one). As for openSUSE itself: no major version upgrades, so yes, 11.3 will be the first one with 4.4 in it. -- ******************************************************************* ** Eef Hartman, Delft University of Technology, dept.
