Still researching. > Well turns out I had to set up a Brother printer wirelessly for someone just 2 days ago. Wasn't as straightforward as when connecting through another pc. It was an all-in-one printer, but not sure of the model. In order to set the IP the printer allowed me to run a WLAN setup from its LCD screen first. I was able to check that the device was connected to the router and get its IP by logging on to the router and seeing which devices were connected to it. There's normally an option within most routers to see what is connected. Normally says something like 'Devices'. The device didn't get listed by any specific name that would have indicated it was the Brother printer. It was just a string of characters. Anyway, despite knowing the IP, when I tried to connect a network printer through the XP 'Add a printer' option nothing showed up even when I told it the IP address. However, there was an option within the installer that came on the Brother disc that allowed me to install for a wireless setup and that worked first time. -- Pete Ives Remove All_stRESS before sending me an email
