From: jeffl on 8 Dec 2009 12:16 okay-I'm gonna pick that one up when I swap the bad Metal Foundry pak. I wanted to get both but they were out of the New York 2 at the location I went to-but now I'm going to a different store. thanx Jeff PS -to get an idea of what I do you can always go to my website www.jeffloven.com there's a youtube link for a video done at a club I play at on the first page under "News". All my backing trax are done from scratch in Sonar. The gig is hokey-but I'm blessed with a ton of work (5 nights/wk). Playing McDonalds Corp party tyhis saturday--severely underbid the gig--just went and reserved additional lights/equipment at the local rental--too much work! It just depends on if you see things like the producer that ran the show for that particular SDX. The Metal Foundry kit is definitely pigeon holed by it's title. The kits can be used for just about anything. The only gotcha is that one of the kits has the Toms arranged in an unorthodox way. I think it's the Haake kit and he has some reversed. It's an easy fix to relearn the notes though. Another one to consider is the Platinum Samples Joe Barresi Evil Drums SDX. His style of mixing is a different sound than the factory kits. I kind of like what the kit sounds like. They are very punchy sounding. That kit should be out before the end of the month. They are just about ready to go. -- Dave "Mod Bod" Modisette http://www.gatortraks.com/forum http://www.gatortraks.com
