From: BrianMultiLanguage on 11 Feb 2005 16:33 This started today. ????????????????? "outlook is trying to retrieve data ............" What is going on? SBS2003,Outlook2003, Cya.
From: Genesee Jayasuriya on 11 Feb 2005 19:13 We have this at work and it just means that too many people are trying to access the server at that particular time. We have a lot of people in our office, and a very slow LAN line, with an old server. We're CONSTANTLY getting this message, wherease we didn't before because we had half as many employees trying to access the server. The Microsoft Folks can answer better but I'd bet that an improved network may help. IE - Improved cables / connection or a stronger server???????????????? From: BrianMultiLanguage on 18 Feb 2005 15:45 This started after the updates applied in the last 2 weeks and then we did our monthly reboot AND now have the problem. Were b4 we did NOT. Out LAN is gig based, the work stations run the OS, access, outlook and that's it. 512 on all the workstations. I don't see where switching to cached mode is going to solve the problem as I see it posted else where. Thanks "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" wrote: > Genesee Jayasuriya wrote: > > We have this at work and it just means that too many people are > > trying to access the server at that particular time. I would use it for all users even if I didn't have major problems with network speed. Of course, I'd probably also have my physical network looked at, and get a decent switch. > Thanks > > "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" wrote: > >> Genesee Jayasuriya wrote: >>> We have this at work and it just means that too many people are >>> trying to access the server at that particular time.
