So, every time I hit the enter key a paragraph symbol occurs and whenever I hit the space bar, a dot appears in it's place! Please help, I have a paper due and cannot get around this!

Tenesha, those markers will not show up when you print the document.
But if they bother you, you can turn them off. Look for a "backwards
P" icon in one of your toolbars/ribbons. Click it and it should hide
those markers.

In future, please submit questions like this to
microsoft.public.word.newusers.

1. The para marks and space marks will NOT print, so that's no problem.

2. Click the para symbol in the upper menu and it'll hide them.
