From: Rahul on 19 Jan 2010 18:45 Rather than use Picassa, Flickr etc. if I were to host my own photos is there any Open Source photo-gallery engine for Linux? I already have MediaWiki but it seems to not have a good phot display engine. Maybe a MediaWiki plugin will do but I haven't found a good one yet. By photo display engine I mean something that allows basic primitives like slide-shows, captions tagging etc. I already have apache and the basic artillery running. -- Rahul

If you give Gallery a try, I suggest trying the 3.0 beta first. It's supposed to be a lot smaller and faster than 2.0, which is definitely a dog. You will probably want mysql in addition to apache. --keith -- kkeller-usenet(a)wombat.san-francisco.ca.us (try just my userid to email me) AOLSFAQ=http://www.therockgarden.ca/aolsfaq.txt see X- headers for PGP signature information
