Hi Matlab community,

After some ill-advised manipulation of my figure handle settings, every figure I now plot appears in all black with no data visualized. I'm still able to change my figure properties (i.e. changing the background to white) but no matter what I do, I am unable to visualize my data.

I suspect that my visualized data might be behind this solid color window but don't know how to retrieve it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Kyle

well... would it not be prudent to assume that any ill-advised
manipulation can be reset by simply restarting ML and re-doing the
figures(?)...

I've tried restarting ML with no success. The same problem appears each time I use ML.

By the way, when I do restart ML, this is the error message I get:

Warning: Initializing Handle Graphics failed in matlabrc.
This indicates a potentially serious problem in your MATLAB setup,
which should be resolved as soon as possible. Error detected was:
MATLAB:badsubscript
Attempted to access monitors(1,:); index out of bounds because
size(monitors)=[0,4].

Any ideas where this is coming from and how best to resolve it?

Thanks,
Kyle

a few thoughts...
do you use a clean
- startup.m
- matlabrec.m
did you reset
- ML's path
did you check
- ML's preferences
did you look for strange entries in
- getpref
