I have about 4 users on my sbs server that have e-mail forwarded to exchange
via the pop connector. 3 of the users work with no problems forwarding from
the same domain with only different named accounts. The forth connector fails
and gives an event 203 from the source small business server on their
connector.

How do I troubleshoot this error?

Rod:

i cannot follow the chain. POP is used to call mail down from a web host
to your exchange server and is a kludge and should only be used for a short
time whle you convert to SMTP for receiving mail.

Sending mail from an exchange mail box, either internally or over the web
(it goes by smtp) has nothing to do with POP, so exactly where does the issue
arrise?

user1(a)mydomain.com gets his messages from web host via pop3 into his mailbox
user2 same
user3 same
user4 same

and this all works.

user1 can send mail (forward mail?) to ??????? via smtp from the exchange
server
user2 same
user3 same
user4 cannot send mail (forward mail) via smtp to ?????? (foreign reciepient?
person on the same domain? or) from his exchange server account becuase
it produces the error: (quoted exactly in full) which appears in a (source
of the message.... NDR? dialog box? with appears to be produced by (outlook?
the exchange server? the web site where the receipient is located? some
other ?)

The second post in this thread:

http://forums.techarena.in/small-business-server/1118709.htm

has a solution that worked for one instance of this error.

However, this case seems complex and "out of the ordinary" enough that I'm
skeptical about its applicability to your situation.

Is the SBS install fully patched? Have you run the Best Practices analyzers
for both Exchange and SBS? Anything relevant in the results?
