From: BILL SWEITZER on 22 Feb 2010 23:14 This is a first for me...using a group to solve a problem. I have quicken 09 and it has been working fine. Now as I go to one step update I get a message that says "could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences" what does this mean and how do I fix it? I would appreciate any help. lostmarbils

It sounds to me that you did some maintenance on your machine perhaps? Cleaning hard drive or registry? It may be important to think about what could have caused this. This may be a case where you need to make some extra backups of your data on CD, or flash drive or another machine, so that you have several to play with in case things go bad or worse. It's the data that may be irretrievable if the HD blows. Then you may need to uninstall Quicken and reinstall it to get the association with the "helper" application back. -- Best regards Han email address is invalid
