We have been using Spamhaus for years with success. I wrote up my
initial evaluation at

http://www.nber.org/sys-admin/dnsbl-comparison.html

and haven't had a reason to change my mind.

+1. The moment we rolled it out smtp traffic went down by 80% and spam by
99%.
