I recommend these for a start: Spyware Terminator for real-time protection: http://www.spywareterminator.com/ MalwareBytes Anti-Malware as a complementary scanner http://www.malwarebytes.org/ WinPatrol is also a necessary companion in order to discover unwanted activity: http://www.winpatrol.com/ I always install Multi AV Scanning Tool for my "clients"(family and friends). It's an easy to use malware removal utility with multiple command line scanners including McAfee, Sophos, Kaspersky and Trend engines. Note that TrendMicro will not work until version 7 is issued. -- JP Loken Sent with Opera's e-mail program: http://www.opera.com/mail/

I agree. Just be aware that with the Malwarebytes program if you delete any of the language files, the program won't run. At least it wouldn't the last time I used it (about five months ago.) -- John Corliss BS206. I block all Google Groups posts due to Googlespam, and as many posts from anonymous remailers (like x-privat.org for eg.) as possible due to forgeries posted through them. No ad, CD, commercial, cripple, demo, nag, share, spy, time-limited, trial or web wares OR warez for me, please. Adobe Flash sucks, DivX rules.

If it still will not run. 1: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall Malwarebytes. Next redownload Malwarebytes but rename it before you download it to your desktop. As you are in the process of downloading when you get to the point that the "enter name of file to save to" box appears, in the "filename" slot, rename mbam-setup.exe to something.exe, then click Save. If it installed but will not run, navigate to this folder: 2: C:\Programs Files\Malwarebytes' AntiMalware At the top of the page, Tools > Folder Options > View, click > Show hidden files and folders and untick > Hide extensions for known file types.
