I wasn't disagreeing with what Calum said. I was simply noting that the
SAMBA org rsync project didn't add support for ACLs until 3.0. This
indicates, as mentioned by the rsync man page snippet provided by Calum
above, that Apple added a patch for ACLs to the Mac OS X rsync.

Probably Apple donated their changes, and they were incorporated into
the public version 3.0.

You can't drag a file you can't see.
But if you drag a directory to another volume,
it's dot-files won't be omitted from the copying that follows.
