From: Mark Hobley on 21 Mar 2010 04:08 I am using the tin newsreader. By pressing y a couple of times I can get a list of all newsgroups available on the feed. The unsubscribed groups are mostly marked with a letter u at the beginning. However, I notice that some groups are not marked with a letter u, but are not in the list of subscribed groups (for example, the linux.dev.* groups are not marked with a u). I can subscribe to the groups marked with a letter u, by pressing s for subscribe. However, by pressing s on those groups not marked with a letter u, I am not able to subscribe to these. Has anyone else seen this on their newsfeed? Why are those groups not marked with a letter u? Mark. -- Mark Hobley Linux User: #370818 http://markhobley.yi.org/

I have not edited this file, so presumably that information is not present in groupinfo. > <http://groupsearch.alt-config.net/cgi-bin/prop.pl?action=search&group=linux.dev.%2A&sorting=count> Wow! What a fantastic search engine! I had no idea such a tool existed :) I have bookmarked that :-) > Have you tried using telnet to log in to your upstream server to see what > is really there? There is a web interface that allows me to check that the groups are available on the upstream server. I will try and test this through telnet though. -- Mark Hobley Linux User: #370818 http://markhobley.yi.org/
