As of BIOS 1.0.12 the 4GB RAM issue was solved.
Here's the changelog:

Fixes/Enhancements:
1. Add support for new Intel CPU.
2. Update to latest microcodes.
3. Improve POST time with internal USB Card Reader & Buffalo USB HDD

The latest applicable BIOS is version 1.0.18 (March 2009) and can be found
