From: BPW on 31 Jul 2008 05:46 Windows Server 2003. Domain controller. Fully sp'd and patched. NTBackup reports this when trying to back up the system state: Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 1. Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:0x8004230c. Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:8004230c Aborting Backup. ---------------------- The operation did not successfully complete. ---------------------- I can't find much on this that isn't supposed to be for Vista. We've checked the knowledgebase, Google'd it (sorry Microsoft!), etc. Nothing useful. No-one seems to know what the code means. We've applied the 940252 and 940349 hotfixes. We normally use Backup Exec, but as this uses the Microsoft VSS stuff the error is the same. Hence the attempt with ntbackup. Please help! |
