From: Ilaria Sani on 19 Jul 2010 05:39 I'm running long-lasting fittings (3-4 days) with matlab2007 64bit version, installed on vista 64. Quite often computer crashes or re-starts automatically. This doesn't happen with matlab 32bit version on windowsXP. Is it due to vista64 incompatibility? How can I solve the problem? What about installing windowsXP? Maybe due to 32bit-scripts running on Matlab 64bit version? Thanks. Ila

From: Ilaria Sani on 19 Jul 2010 08:55 I'm not sure the problem is vista. I just sow in the forum, that other people had compatibility problems with vista, but in different fields. Also some of that problems were solved by changing matlab version. Moreover I don't get any error in Matlab, the computer restart! And I can not understend exactly why. Finally, I know crashes don't happen with win.xp on a 32bit computer, but I don't know about 64bit! So, I was just wondering if someone knows what is the problem and/or what is the best strategy to solve it, before re-installing everything! No one will be able to answer your question with just the information you provided. I suggest you send your code to Technical Support so they can investigate what's causing MATLAB to crash (or restart your machine) when you run it. -- Steve Lord slord(a)mathworks.com comp.soft-sys.matlab (CSSM) FAQ: http://matlabwiki.mathworks.com/MATLAB_FAQ To contact Technical Support use the Contact Us link on http://www.mathworks.com
