From: o on 1 May 2010 18:05 I am very frustrated, and this makes me not use outlook. What to do to have my other email mailbox unchanged? Thanks!
From: LD5SZRA on 1 May 2010 22:36 Are you saying that you have two computers but you want only one computer to download all messages from the server while the other computer should download the messages but keep them on the server for other computer to access them? If so, then you need to put a check mark around: "Leave a copy of messages on the server". To get there, try this on the machine THAT SHOULD NOT DELETE ANY MESSAGES: 1) Open your outlook (if it is not open) 2) On the Menu bar, go to: Tools, Account Settings, 3) Select by clicking once) an account you want to change and click on the change button just above it; 4) You get a dialog box open with all the basic settings of your account but you want click on the button called: "MORE SETTINGS" 5) On the next dialog box, click on "ADVANCED" tab 6) Now on the next box,the last three lines are the ones you want to deal with. I suggest put a tick on the first line that says: Leave a copy of messages on the server" and remove the ticks against the other two. 7) click OK and click Cancel and you are done. hth o wrote: > > I am very frustrated, and this makes me not use outlook. Thanks! You probably only have one POP3 mailbox, because that mailbox is on the POP3 server, not on your computer. If two computers are accessing the same POP3 mailbox, you must do as "LD5SZRA" says. On both of the computers, mark the client (MS Outlook) to "Leave a copy of messages on the server". On one of the computers, set a rule to "Delete messages from the server after 'x' days". -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum
