He wouldn't know humour if Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo rose up from their graves, slapped him in the face, and flicked cigar ash on him. Anyway, as long as you have the minicom package installed, you should be good to go. Minicom contains rz and sz, which is what you'll need. So go on and have fun with your BBS on Slackware. The distribution will prove solid for you. Oh, while you're having fun, don't forget to fart every once in a while and blame it on the dog. The rest of the masses will understand. ;) BL. - -- Brad Littlejohn | Email: tyketto(a)sbcglobal.net Unix Systems Administrator, | tyketto(a)ozemail.com.au Web + NewsMaster, BOFH.. Front End is Binkleyterm XE for Linux as well. Fidonet 1:142/7176 There are a few dialup bbs packages for Linux to consider. I ran Synchronet 3.xx in the past but Rob Swindell got rid of direct modem support, I wanted a maximus/squish bbs as it was similar to Opus 1.73 CBCS that I ran under Msdos years ago. I used synchronet with a modem with a few shell scripts via agetty. Current BBS is actually fired by the same scripts as the dialup line is also for shell account users as well. -- From the Desk of the Sysop of: Planet Maca's Opus, a Free open BBS system. telnet://pinkrose.dhis.org Web Site: http://pinkrose.dhis.org, Dialup 860-618-3091 300-33600 bps The New Cnews maintainer B'ichela
