Any calls from there come up "unavailable" so I can't really risk blocking them. :-( Is there any way around this problem? Tim

Although the last time I looked, the truecall online documentation was a bit sparse, you can accept withheld calls; accept automatically and take the callers name, then query whether to accept, with no direct contact; warn the caller then tell them a digit to send to get through; or use a secret, multi-digit, code to override the block. That's as well as simply dropping the call. However, given the nature of this particular caller, I would suggest that avoiding their calls was not a good idea. If they have the wrong person, they will probably want to know. If they have the right person, avoiding paying the debt is likely to increase their collection costs, which they may recover from you. Even if they have the wrong person, ignoring them risks your credit history, at least in the short term.

Any calls : from there come up "unavailable" so I can't really risk blocking : them. :-( : : Is there any way around this problem? : : Tim If you have broadband, set up a VoIP number and tell them to call on that. My place of work only has a Sipgate number for me, which rings on a separate phone with distinctive ringing so I know it's them, plus it's easy to divert calls to any other number including a mobile if required. I don't make outgoing calls on that number so it's free (except for the cost of diversion if used). Ivor |
