AIUI, the 50p add-on lasts for a day (not sure whether that's 24 hours or whether it expires at midnight on the same or following day?) and expires at the end of the relevant time period whether or not you've used any bandwidth. *And* the free usage is used first - so if you've got enough free usage to last until the end of the 'day' covered by the add-on, you'll have wasted the add-on. It's obviously very important to be able to monitor the amount of free usage left so that you can buy the add-on at just the right time. I read somewhere [1] that you are supposed to get a warning of some sort when the free usage is about to expire and when you are about to start eating into your 3Pay credit. Maybe if My3 isn't working, the warning doesn't work either - in which case you *have* got good grounds for complaint. [1] On the last page of "Your quick guide to Pay As You Go on 3" (which comes with the S2 phone) it says: "Your free 150MB Mobile Internet allowance should be plenty, but if you get anywhere close to using it all up, you'll hear from us by text". -- Cheers, Roger ______ Email address maintained for newsgroup use only, and not regularly monitored.. What if I buy it at one minute past midnight - do I get virtually two days for the price of one? -- Cheers, Roger ______ Email address maintained for newsgroup use only, and not regularly monitored.. Suddenly I got a window suggesting that I might like to download the new version. There were two buttons - 'download and install now' and 'wait until later'. I clicked on the second one. It seems that iPlayer ignored my request to 'down load later' and it downloaded right there and then. But it didn't install. It was only when I'd received a new allowance on the dongle that I noticed a window saying install iPlayer now. I clicked on this and the install happened straight away. So iPlayer had obviously downloaded the new version despite my request for it not to. And that was what had taken my joint allowance over the top. I hate it when systems do that. Once I got hit by MS for a security upgrade of Office and XP and Explorer. It all amounted to a 250Mb download taken from my dongle allowance. CJB.
