The free mobile internet you get after topping up, is there anyway
to check how much you've used?

Yes, you can do it using My3 - either in the phone, or online (the latter
being easier). Have you set up a My3 account for it? It's easy to do at
www.three.co.uk - then you can log on and click on "Check Balance". Mine is
telling me that that I've still got 135.48MB left.

Thanks, Roger. I think somehow I must have used mine up without
realising it, or more likely 3 have screwed up. The last time I
checked a couple of weeks back it said I hadn't used any data
outside of my free allowance, but it didn't specify how much I had
left. I assumed it must be most of it as I rarely connect and
that's just to check email, and I know it can't have expired as I
have 31 days free 3 to 3 minutes minutes remaining. Now it says
I've used 0.01 outside of my data allowance, which is strange
because I've not used it since the last time I tried to check the
balance. Never mind, I'm just glad that the data counter is still
working for everyone else and so hopefully should work the next
time I top up.
Thanks again.

The data counter is not working .... part of a letter of complaint re:
not being able to access My3 to monitor my dongle use, to be sent to
Three HQ, and BBC Watch Dog, Trading Standards, Advertising Standards,
etc.

"... this lack of being able to access My3 is also a major problem to
monitor data usage for my new S2 Skypephone and 3Pay PAYG. I half used
my 3Pay allowance and so purchased a one-day Internet Add-on for 50p.
This was deducted from my 3Pay credit. However whilst I was using my
S2 as a modem it seemed to use up both the 3Pay allowance AND the Add-
on allowance until BOTH were used up without warning me and without me
being able to access My3 to check which was being used first and by
how much. I was then charged an extra 30p/Mb for exceeding this joint
allowance.

So now I will have no Internet connection with the S2 (for Facebook,
BBC, eBay, etc, etc) because my data allowance has been exceeded. And
I have no intention of lining Three's coffers with yet another £10 top
up since your high fees have already ripped me off for £6 for a 20
minute call to a landline, and £8 for use of my dongle (usage that I
couldn't properly monitor).

And God I am sick of seeing that damned page of the girl in a red
scarf telling me that My3 is temporarily unavailable. It is not
acceptable to have such a flakey accounts system with out-of-date
security levels. Carphone Warehouse staff are always scathing about
Three when I ask them for advice. They almost universally regard Three
as a 'mickey mouse' outfit at the bottom of the list of mobile telcos.
I am beginning to see why."

The day i take advice from CPW staff i'll shoot myself.

Just tried my3 and it's working fine for me
If it at first doesn't show remaining allowance, log out and back in with
the:

Got another My3 account? To log in, click here

enter your phone number (even if it's the same one) and password

Doing so will bypass the original My3 url ticket
