Senn, It's a Windows VPC, running on a 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate OS. All Integration Features are on, and it has to mount 5 DFS shares while starting up. Tom OK, thanks, Tom Realizes something wrong with my machines integration of this XP-mode. The strange thing is that the Autocad runs fine. I wonder; could the machine even start up if the virtualization in the bios didn't work right. I use a new motherboard. The bios often needs an upgrading on new boards, as far as I know. /senn "senn" <senn(a)homeplace&.fix> wrote in message news:%23kUAXe%23oKHA.1892(a)TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... Tom Mason What kind of VPC. Windows VPC (XP-mode), VPC 2007, VirtualBox, VMware or any others I don't know of. And the loading time you post, is it with or without IC on ?. What is your host operating system and 32 -or 64bit ?. Now I'm interesting in knowing what load time others have when loading XP-mode with IC on, and on a 64bit host. The 90 seconds is what I get when the integration is off. With the integration on it is more than 3 minutes. /senn "senn" <senn(a)homeplace&.fix> wrote in message news:%23KqaS50oKHA.5776(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... On a new Windows 7 64bit machine, with E9650, having 8GB ram installed. XP-mode takes 3 minutes to load. Is this normal ?. Or what could otherwise be the reason for this long loading time. I have trouble with pinging a modem. I'll have to shot down the modem and seek new IP. Compleatly switching off the lan connection setting doesn't reduce the time taken for the next XP-loading. Does other virtual machines load faster, VirtualBox or VMware ?. Thanks for an answer. /senn

If there was something wrong with the VT implementation you'd most likely get crashes or it would work at all. I don't think there's any way slower would be an effect and it's only on startup of the VM that you see it. -- Bob Comer On Wed, 3 Feb 2010 07:03:13 +0100, "senn" <senn(a)homeplace&.fix> wrote: > > "Tom Mason" <masonth(a)comcast.net> skrev i meddelelsen news:%2396gP8FpKHA.4648(a)TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Senn, > > It's a Windows VPC, running on a 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate OS. I also think there's nothing wrong. But is still suprised, why others can start up with the integration coupled in about half the time of mine. Ok bob, let it go, thanks. /senn |
