I started having a problem with losing my WiFi LAN connection every time I closed the MacBook, coincident with upgrading from 10.4 to 10.5. Much frittering around with prefs files and so on did not help. Finally I ran across a thread on some obscure (to me) board, where that was mentioned. I looked, found the errant app hiding in a sub-folder, and put it back, which fixed things completely. I didn't pursue the issue (if it ain't broke no more ...), but it would appear that Tiger didn't care where the Prefs app lived, but Leopard did. Isaac
