A hundred quid less and I _might_ have been tempted by a black 16GB model.
Well, in a few months' time after I've recovered from the iPad purchase.

My 32gig 3GS for 530 PAYG (16gig would have been 430 but there
weren't any - I'm a sucker!), so it's pretty normal pricing.

My Nokia E90 was 550 four years ago.

When you run the numbers from eg the Vodafone contract pricing at the
"related" links on the bottom of that Reg page, it's no big deal -
you'd pay it anyway.

O2 have been promising iPhone 4 on PAYG since Monday 7th, when it was
announced. Is this the same as an 'unlocked' phone? Can an iPhone be on PAYG,
yet tied to one carrier?

Yep - mine was locked on to O2 PAYG for a whole week and then I got them
to unlock it for 15 and I moved on to Voda.

Not sure if they still offer that unlocking option and/or will do it for
the iP4.
