If you like Grabit, use that for binaries.

If you like OE, use that for text groups.

If you want to use OE for binaries, you will have to use yProxy do the
decoding for it transparently.

There are better binary agents than grabit and there are better text
agents than OE.

Fine suggestions, and I'm grateful.

After fooling with a few, Gravity seems to fit my style. It offers
everything I need, and I became comfortable with it in five minutes...

THANKS!

One asked about the problem with Agent. That was long ago in internet
time. I had purchased an earlier edition, and was marginally satisfied.
The upgrade, however, left me behind.

John Corliss BS206. Because of all the Googlespam, I block all posts
sent through Google Groups. I also block as many posts from anonymous
remailers (like x-privat.org for eg.) as possible due to forgeries
posted through them.

No ad, CD, commercial, cripple, demo, nag, share, spy, time-limited,
trial or web wares OR warez for me, please. Adobe Flash sucks, DivX rules.

Alt.Binz. Last freeware version is 0.28 or something. Scheduling,
freeware, very configurable. In fact, if you need to configure it, go
here to an Oz site that I found very helpful in that it expalined all
the settings:
