A couple of years ago during the European football championships I
picked up a lovely Pentax lens from Germany at an excellent price, from
a chap who had neglected to ensure that his auction wouldn't end while
Germany was busy watching something else!

Splendid! I should keep that in mind for later, for the last dozen
years or so I've been using World Cups as excellent opportunities for
going outside and doing things that are wonderful but always far too
crowded - popular walks, bike rides, that sort of thing.

Merry was aroused. -- J R R Tolkien

Come to think of it, I'd recommend a 3GS as very worthwhile over a 3G.
There's an awful lot of teh snappy that the 3G just doesn't have -
it's annoying to use one (or a 2G) when you're used to a 3GS.

Whilst holidaying with the sprogs and watching Favourite Teddy Bear
trundling through the x-ray, I speculated on the fun that could be had
with a teddy bear containing a radio-opaque teddy-bear skeleton.

Doesn't the 3GS have more memory? 256MB vs 128MB? That would make a
difference.

Yes, and much faster graphics, though I can't recall if it has a
faster CPU. The 3GS is easily double the speed in a lot of places -
starting apps, saving+closing apps, handling large lists like the App
Store... nothing *important*, but we're all about teh snappy here,
right?
