My wife is after a new phone, but the price in store is 199 + top up but on
the website the price is 149 + top up!!

Why the difference?!

Because in store at CPW, you get very friendly and knowledgeable staff that
are prepared to take the time to explain everything about the phone to you
in great detail in order to make the right decision for you, and not based
on what makes most profit for the company ;-)

The real reason is probably those that search the internet for items are
usually looking for the cheapest price, whilst those that wander into the
store are more likely to be influenced by sales patter, so they can get away
with charging more in store.

Not sure why you get that impression.

Me neither, it was intended as a reply to shopping at CPW, but it does apply
to other retailers.
