From: alfredo on 15 Nov 2009 13:03 When 11.1 came out, i tried to install the ATI driver on my laptop, i had a hard time and did not succeed. Last week, I just installed suse 11.2 in a new desktop PC, and the installation was really easy after a failed first attempt... In the first attempt, the immediate installation of the official ATI driver gave an error message (incidentally, installation in ubuntu 9.10 worked without a problem). I did some research and i found the missing part: Make sure that you have kernel-desktop/server/xen-devel that matches your kernel if you want to use the Linux Catalyst driver auto-builder (otherwise you will have 3D issues because the modules won't build due to incomplete-source errors). So, prior to trying the latest ATI driver installation, be sure you have the following kernel packages installed: kernel-desktop kernel-desktop-devel kernel-source use yast to find them, and select the correct flavor of your kernel (desktop/server/xen). Once installed, you can use the catalys ./*.run auto-builder to install the driver. Hope this helps you. From: Derk on 15 Nov 2009 13:56 If I may ask one last thing: how do I make the cube smaller? It now nearly occupies the whole screen. I saw it should be possible to make the cube itself with the desktops projected on it smaller, but how? Derk
