Windows SBS 2003. Server crashed and now has the message "Missing or
Corrupt Config.sys".
To fix this, is it just a matter of using the Recovery Console and copying
Config.sys from the original CD?

Thanks.

John,

On most of the SBS 2003 installs that config.sys is just a text file from a
long ago era called DOS. You can create an empty config.sys file by using
these commands.

1) Open a Command Window by clicking on the Start Button and then click run.
2) Now type cmd and click ok.
3) When the command window comes up type CD\ to get you to the root of the
drive. Make sure it is your boot drive!
4) Once you are at the C:\ prompt or whatever your boot drive is then type
this command
5) copy con config.sys and then hit enter.
6) Now just press the Function Key F6 the ^z will appear. Now hit enter. It
will tell you that one file has been copied. Verify that the file
config.sys is now there and you should be good to go!

The server is not bootable. It gets this message at startup, before loading
Windows.

which suggests config.sys has been either corrupted or plagued (virus).

BartPE, find and destroy(or rename config.old).

Or is it perhaps a case of having a DOS boot diskette or CD in a drive?
