what frequencies does a speech envelope contain?
I am trying to isolate the silence regions from the speech regions. For this I am trying to find the enevelope of speech signal and compare it with set threshold value. My question is what frequencies does a speech envelope typically contain? What are the typical ways in which people perform the isolation of spe... 2 Apr 2010 00:38
2nd UNTREF International Congress on Acoustics
Hello to everyone on the list, my name is Ezequiel Kinigsberg, I'm from Argentina and I'm studying Dipl. Sound Engineering. I've read almost all the incredibly interesting mails from the list since I suscribed and believe me, I've learned a lot. I'm not shure if this is the best way (or the correct way) to promote ... 31 Mar 2010 12:05

How to implement Linkwitz-Riley LR2?
Hi there, I have pretty well working LR4 crossover created using 2 biquads (for audio DSP). It has -24dB / oct steepness (I guess). I wanted to lower the steepness to say -12dB / oct. I guess I could use LR2 instead, but could you point me out, how to implement it? I also heard steepness can be changed using Q. I... 30 Mar 2010 20:39
COMP.DSP 2010 update
While they were testing the LHC, I tested the gas grill; we can say with certainty that was a success. No new black holes were created neither in the Universe; nor in our house. May be, the Walker's super light speed radiation is what saved the World from Gorelik's dark forces; however I have to admit lack o... 30 Mar 2010 14:58

Expanding intensity range in MATLAB
Hi, I want to use imshow command imshow(I,[low high]) for displaying different images. All images have different minimum and maximum intensity values. I want to show all images on the same scale i.e between same range of maximum and minimum intensities. say image1 has minimum intensity values of 0.5 and maximum 0.2... 30 Mar 2010 12:44
