From: AES on 18 Jan 2010 11:59 Apologies if this is something every Mac user should already know, but: If I'm looking at a link to an individual PDF in a website window using Safari, I can download that PDF to my desktop (or wherever else I may want it) by double-clicking on the link itself; waiting a few moments; and doing a Save As to the desired location. That's all exactly two simple steps. And so far as i can tell, no other apps are opened or left open afterwards (except maybe a Safari plugin), and I'm right back in my initial position in Safari. Is there any way to accomplish this same simple download of an individual podcast seen as a clickable link on a Safari-viewed web page, with two similarly simple steps? [Just want to download the mp3, not play it; don't want to subscribe to the podcast; don't want to open iTunes and have to navigate through it and close it afterwards.] So far as I can see from its opening screen, iPodderX can't do this requires subscribing to the podcast. Shouldn't Safari's Help page give some kind of hit on "podcast"?

Option clicking any link (including PDFs and MP3s) will download rather than navigating to it. Steve

That is what I do, option click and save as to where I want. Works well. -- dorayme

Depends on who's providing the podcast. Before you could subscribe to podcasts in iTunes, I would download "Coverville" podcasts from its Web site <http://coverville.com/> For each show there was and is a "Download" button. If you Control-click on the button and select "Download Linked File," the MP3 file will download with no problem. (I just now verified it). -- D.F.
