Thanks for the reply, me. As I had implied in my original post, I already
have Ubuntu installed on my PC. It runs in its own partition with the Ext4
Jounaling File System. Wubi installs Ubuntu on NTFS which is not a very
optimised scenario.

Sorry, guess I misunderstood the question. See this link:

http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=150601

The first hit in this search:

http://www.bing.com/search?q=bcdedit+linux&form=QBRE&filt=all&qs=n

I haven't used Ubuntu 9.1. I prefer distros other than Ubuntu. Does 9.1 not
use grub? If that's the case then the above won't work.

From: Rajesh Shenoy on
Thanks for the quick reply, Kerry! :) I will check the links.

Ubuntu 9.10 ships with a beta version of the new GRUB2 - specifically, the
version 1.97~beta4. From what I've read, this is majorly different from the
old GRUB (now renamed GRUB Legacy), and is quite incompatible with it in its
implementation. I guess this is the reason EasyBCD is broken with the new
Ubuntu.

Thanks, again!

Best regards,
- Rajesh

From all accounts you are better using NTFS than Ex4 at the moment :-)

Tell me what you need, and I'll tell you how to get along without it.
From: me on

I have Ubuntu & Vista/Win7 on their own hard drives and switch the
boot order in BIOS.
