Hello:

Does anyone know how to add Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala (which I've installed
into a logical partition of its own on the only HDD I have in my laptop) to
my Windows 7 Boot Manager? I over-wrote the GRUB boot manager that Ubuntu
installed with the Windows 7 Boot Manager using EasyBCD as it was a beta
version of GRUB.

I tried to add Ubuntu using EasyBCD, but it doesn't work (probably because
Ubuntu comes with the new GRUB2). I get the error message "The selected
entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt"
when I select the Ubuntu entry in the Windows Boot Manager screen.

Please see below the current output of my BCDEdit.exe, after the attempt to
add the Ubuntu entry using EasyBCD.

I have spent hours wading through Ubuntu forums online, but haven't found
anything that's helped.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
- Rajesh

EasyBCD 2.0 http://neosmart.net/forums/showthread.php?t=642 is intended
to resolve this, but is still beta and I don't think it works properly yet.

I would usually give you step by step instructions but in this case the
answer is so obvious I'll just post the link.

Thanks for the reply, Kerry. Perhaps I had not made my intention clear in my
original post - I don't want to keep GRUB in my MBR. I feel safer with
Windows Boot Manager in charge of my MBR, and that is why I blew GRUB out -
deliberately - in the first place.

Now, I just want to know how I can add the just-released Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic
Koala to the Windows Boot Manager's list (preferably using BCDEdit.exe).
EasyBCD can't do it for this new Ubuntu release, as it's not compatible.
There is a beta version of EasyBCD which is supposed to handle this, but I'm
loathe to trying beta versions especially for such an important task.

So, do you know how I can add the entry (specifically, the newly released
Ubuntu 9.10, and NOT the old Ubuntu versions which I know how to add) to my
Windows Boot Manager?

Thanks,
- Rajesh
