We have 9 computers (most running 10.5 a few running 10.4)syncing contacts
to a MobileMe account and 1 iPhone. When a contact is delete from someones
contacts on the next sync it is added back in.

The other day I erased everyone's contacts except 1 computer resynced back
to MobileMe (one way from computer to MM). Then did one way sync to all
other computer (from MM to computer).

There was some strangeness at this point. The master list has 1064 contacts.
Some computers correctly showed the 1064 others showed 820. The ones showing
820 had slightly different data then the 1064 computers. I dont know where
the 820 data was coming from because theoretically everything on MM was
wiped and replaced with the correct master list. Eventually after fooling
around (de authorizing computer, etc) I was able to get all computers to
show 1064.

I still continued to have the original problem that deletions and edits were
re appearing and duplicating. Today I simplified the setup and disabled
syncing on all computers except 1 (so now it is just iPhone, 1 computer and
MM) but still continue to have the same problem.

Do any of these Macs also sync contacts to Google? I haven't had
trouble syncing to MobileMe, but Google syncing introduced all kinds of
problems, with duplicated and/or old contacts, or even bogus new entries
with a random collection of email addresses found in other contacts. I
don't know if it's Google or Apple's fault but I eventually had to turn
it off.
