From: Hugh Browton on 24 Mar 2010 14:58 Dear All A client used to use UKOnline as her ISP, and when she sent mail she sent it via UKOnline's SMTP server. However, her email address continued to be at Dircon, so she POP collected from Dircon. Mail was replied to back to Dircon as her emails presumably had a Reply-To field directing email back to Dircon. Recently she moved to Sky. (Not my advice, but what can you do?). We edited her email settings to she collects still from POP-Dircon, but sends via SMTP-Sky. (ie we replaced SMTP-UKOnline by SMTP-Sky). Only change in Apple Mail as far as I can remember (and why would I change anything else?) Now all reply mails come back to her at her Sky email address (not her Dircon address). Have I changed erroneously something in Apple Mail, or, perhaps do Sky strip out Reply-To addresses which aren't them? Or what? Ideas, please. This can usually be managed manually when creating a new mail (pull-down at the end of the 'from' line) and choosing which user you want to be in that instance (all could use the same SMTP server for outgoing but might have different 'reply to's). Probably miles out though. ;-( Cheers, T i m

Maybe a brute force Reply-to header will do the trick? Can't that be configured into Mail? I do it using Eudora when I send from my Bluewin.ch account. -- Peter

But anyway, you can do it for her- only needs doing once, at least until she decides to dump her Dircon address. -- Peter
