From: Nat Wooding on 19 Jun 2008 16:12 There are a couple usage notes on the SAS support site that deal with this error message and it may be due to the remote connect. Here is the text of one of these notes. When you invoke SAS on a terminal server or a remote computer, the following error message can appear: Read Access Violations in task SASXKERN. The problem occurs on one client computer but does not occur with the same user ID on a different client computer. The problem occurs because the printer drivers on the client computer are corrupt. You can test this by doing the following: 1. Open a remote desktop connection. 2. Click on the Options button. 3. Click on the Local Resources tab. 4. In Local Devices, deselect or uncheck the Printers check box. 5. Open SAS. If SAS opens, you have a corrupted printer driver on the client. If SAS fails to invoke, there could be other causes on the server. If you have never used the usage notes, go to http://support.sas.com/ Then, enter the error message in the search box. You should be presented with several hits. Good luck.
