I have a SBS 2008 network that has been in place for about 3 weeks now. A
few days ago the exchange server stopped sending mail to certain addresses.
The company is able to communicate with me and some others but for the rest
they get rejected or it states delayed. Here is an example;

Jane Doe

The following organization rejected your message:
col0-mc1-f25.Col0.hotmail.com.

They have been able to send to the user "Jane Doe" in the past but for some
reason it gets rejected now. I have cleared the queue thinking there was
something stuck but that did not help. At first I thought it was because
they don't have an SSL cert but I have other clients who don'e have an SSL
and they are working fine.

Any thoughts?

I'd suggest going to MXTOOLBOX.COM and see what issues you might have..could be that you're being black listed

Do you have a business broadband account with a static IP?

Tim:

Please run your exchange server tests at mxtoolbox.com or post up the email
address here and we can help you with it.

Also, you can run some tests here:

https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/

Also, run the sbs bpa and fix what ever it finds.

and be aware that an email address such as the one you have posted with here:

something(a)gmail.com

could possibly get the person who may be using that address flooded with
spam.

better to munge an email address as:

something(a)no_spam_gmail.com

or the like.

They are a non profit and have been running with a dynamic address for the last 5 years. Guess it caught up with them. Tried to get them to send their mass mailings using Constant Contact or some other service but they chose not to.
