From: Steve W. Jackson on 22 Jan 2010 16:32 I upgraded to the new Firefox 3.6 release yesterday and have encountered an annoying quirk I'd like to resolve. So far, I've been unable to find anything about it while browsing the Firefox forums and thought I'd toss it out here to see if anyone can suggest a fix. I have some .webloc files saved for sites I frequent. Since switching to 3.6, I've found that using these when Firefox isn't running results in launching it and opening two windows, one for the location desired and the other for the home page listed in my preference settings. It turns out that this same annoying behavior occurs if I command-click a URL using MT-NewsWatcher when Firefox is not running. I've tried changing my preferences to use a blank page, and I've tried different home pages -- all with the same result. Any insights are appreciated. = Steve = -- Steve W. I've noticed that clicking a URL in another application (or command-clicking in MT-NewsWatcher) properly adds a tab to the Firefox window with the correct contents, but if Firefox is minimized (in the Dock) it doesn't maximize. So I have to click on the Firefox icon in the dock to get to the page. This is a change in behavior from earlier versions of Firefox; in fact, it's a change from every other browser I've ever used. I don't know whether there's a setting somewhere to reset the right behavior or whether it's a bug. Paul

I had not tried it from my RSS reader, but I too get this same undesirable behavior when Firefox is closed. Drat. -- Steve W. Jackson Montgomery, Alabama
