From: Gary D on 22 Feb 2010 11:16 Hi All, Can anybody recommend a firewall/router that has the ability to URL/WEB filter based on active directory (using LDAP ???) to use with my sbs 2008 prem. (I Want to avoid ISA !) I have previously used Draytek 2820n but I believe URL filtering on these cant be done on a IP/user/group, it is a global setting. TIA Gary D

From: "Gregg Hill" greggmhill at please do not spam me at yahoo dot on 22 Feb 2010 12:31 WatchGuard with XTM subscription. A Core X550e or higher is great. The Edge units have the same functionality, but their download speeds with everything enabled aren't good enough for my use. If you have a small office without a server room, the Core X550e may not be for you as it is fairly loud. Gregg Hill -- Gregg's pet peeves: First of all, what does a peeve look like, and why would anyone want one as a pet? Peeve #1: Apostrophes: when in doubt, leave them out! You will be correct more often than not. Its = Belonging to it. For example, "Look at the sky. Its color is blue." It's = It is. For example, "It's hot today." It's = It has. For example, "It's been nice talking to you." Its' = completely incorrect usage. Stop it! Peeve #2: Your vs. You're "Your" means belonging to you, as in, "It's your truck." "You're" means "You are." Example, you're probably about ready to throttle me for this peeve! From: Mel Weaver on 22 Feb 2010 13:32 According to this page http://www.watchguard.com/products/edge-e/detailed-specs.asp the firewall throughput is the same for the X10, X20 and X55.
