It's fried. I've had several computer components stop working after
mains power was lost. The problem wasn't the interruption of power but
the surge prior to the blackout. Do you have a surge protector?

While it is true that surges associated with power outage is bad juju,
the USB is/was getting its 5V from the mobo from the PS 5V rail.
There's a level of protection there beyond what (might be) surging at
the mains.

It seems to me that there used to be a FAT32 for the 16G and now there's
not.

Ths is a follow up to my original post. I tried most of the suggestions. I
was most impressed with the Linux tutorial and worked with Linux fdisk for
most of the day trying to get the flash disk back. Long story, short
version: nothing worked. I think BB was right when he said that it's a
goner. Netac support sent me two programs to try. I couldn't get either
program to work but I thought the group might like to see the instructions
that came with the program. Please note that these instructions are in
better English than an equivalent in Mandarin written by me. Thanks to all
who tried to help. JG

Hello,
please use the annex to the operations of the two tools (Note: the tool is a
tool for low-grid, would undermine the disk, please use caution):
(1) use the name "U216 repair tool. Rar" format, to extract to your
computer, while USB will have access to computers, running tools, point
"start" can, after the completion of the requested Re-USB plug;

(2) if the format is only after the completion of the ordinary district, and
then use the name "U216.rar" a tool for decompression after the installation
on your computer, USB access to a computer, run the installation of the new
procedures, interface There is a slider to adjust the capacity of the two
regions, has been determined, "the beginning" to format. After completion,
please replug the U216

It looks like the translation was done by a computer.
