If my flash drive failed, I would not sweat it. I have it Syned-
(Karen's) to my Hard Drive. As to safely ejecting it...I never do.
(Saving data is an exception)
I also run programs from it all the time. I use a menu program.
Maybe I am just lucky as all my drives are still going.

Here's a link to a similar FDISK step-thru (this time using FDISK from
the Win98 floppy). FDISK's prompts can seem very counter-intuitive if
someone hasn't used it before.
