My wife does most of the shopping from our home, and our IP changes and Google doesn't get to keep cookies here. And it wasn't even my usual Web browser I was using... *AND* the ads were mis-targetted - all for the sort of "mens' stuff" that I'd never touch, not very Google-like. When I see *real* targetted ads aimed at me, bigod they're targetted! (plenty of these targetted ads miss, but I usually think `Good guess, given the evidence you've got'. Of course I've never bought anything so advertised; I like to subvert things and that's an easy way to subvert something, refusing to buy in response to ads.) > Someone else playing the same > game would get different ads. > > Either that or they've got no other advertisers. :-) I was thinking the latter - and if so, it's faintly creepy to think about the fact that this means all over the place, there are lots of middle aged men dressing up playing at dressing up girls' dolls and not just in Japan (which I'd be able to cope with 'cos the Japs are *weird* about this sort of thing). Then again, that's not as distasteful to think about as one of the Web pages I found recently which was so horribly nasty that even I would not post the url, not here and not *anywhere*. Nope, not an illegal link either, moral bankruptcy not being an actual crime as such. Yes, but now I realise that is a different filetype - it is an flv rather than a swf. I confused them as they are both flash files.
