And every time you visit a Silverlight site on powerpc it attempts to
download Silverlight 2.0, microsoft's server then re-directs you to the
Silverlight 1.0 installer, which you already have installed, so you end
up with numerous copies of it on the desktop.

Yep, very Microsoftian. They're just copying Apple's Quicktime/iTunes
installer innovation.
