Give yourself a star.

Can I tell you where to put your emoticon? That was not in jest.

Your attempts to be urbane and knowledgeable fall on deaf ears. You have
the same chance of persuading me to see things your way as I do of
changing *all* of usenet.

But I don't need to change *all* usenet, all I need do is put up a few
signs such as:

"WARNING, TURN BACK, USENET IS A CESSPOOL OF FUTILITY!"

If even one person abandons usenet and investigates a moderated forum
then my primary mission objective is a success.

There's also my secondary goal which is to degrade the usenet signal to
noise ratio and you have again ably assisted me. Thanks TJ.

I suggest you re-evaluate your understanding of the word "can".
It's not a definite. Like "may" it means something may (or may not) happen.
It's an indication of positive probability.

If he'd said usenet IS as efficient... Then your "or not" might've worked.

Thank you for the noise. All contributions are gratefully accepted.

Make that *any* of Usenet, and you might be closer to correct. And
"urbane?" Never. I'm just a simple country boy who knows the value of
his upbringing.

I'm ever so happy for you, but I fail to understand why one must abandon
Usenet to "investigate" a moderated forum. They are not mutually exclusive.

I also feel very sorry for you, for someone on Usenet must have really
pushed one of your buttons for you to be so down on *all* of Usenet.
Such bitterness! Too bad you won't put some of that energy toward more
positive pursuits.

Yes, you have degraded the signal-to-noise ratio, by raising the noise
to higher and higher levels. Again, very sad. All you seek is
destruction. I'll never understand that kind of mentality.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't wish to be your patsy any more. You
hereby have what you've wanted all along:

Thank you (I think). ;-)

Jay Leno? Is that the guy that thinks he's saving the planet by
driving around LA in a convertible Rolls Royce Phantom.

What a guy!

He could obviously do with some of my material.
