From: Skybuck Flying on 19 May 2010 10:33 Ok, So maybe the phaser works by firing tremendous ammounts of energy into a target to spontanously combust it into flames/energy/plasma. The drawback of the phaser would be that it might leave an immense energy trace/signature. I wonder what the effect would be of a anti-matter gun ? Now suppose for a moment that it's possible to collect anti matter and store it in a gun... Let's assume "anti matter bullits" which are contained inside the gun, and perhaps fired of with some gunpower as in a usual gun. On impact the shell of the anti matter bullit would break apart releasing the anti matter into the target's matter. Now I am not a physics kind of guy... but as far as I know... anti-matter cancels matter ? Or does the opposite happen ? Is there a big bang of explosion/energy ? So the question is: "Would there be some kind of (energy) signature ?" Or would it all "magically" disappear (perhaps into an alternate universe) untraceable with todays technology ?! ;) :) Bye, Skybuck.
