Slower, but Handbrake can use this disk image as a source without having to go via VLC. I've used it myself for stuff I have on DVD that I want to watch via XBox360 streaming. I'll see if it's done when I get home . 3.06GHz iMac doing about 47 FPS taking 27 mins to do a 45min program.

Its odd because I used the 64 bit version last week for something else I had downloaded from iGrabber and converted for iPhone with no problem but it didn't like the DVD that I'd recorded off the CBBC TV chanel. No Jim, if you'd read the readme, you'd know that Fairmount uses VLC to do its job. You don't get to use an encrypted DVD as if it weren't encrypted without VLC - not even when using Fairmount. Fairmount's just an interface, glue code, between VLC and the part of the OS that mounts discs, AIUI. But it's trouble-free in operation, provided that you remember to unmount the disc from Fairmount when you want to eject... DVD Remaster comes with Fairmount - worth a look. Interesting, didn't know that. However, it does rather neatly get around the '64 bit Handbrake won't play nicely with 32 bit VLC' issue. > But it's trouble-free in operation, > provided that you remember to unmount the disc from Fairmount when you > want to eject... Yep.
