From: Lynn W on 10 Jan 2010 10:45 Recorded a programme off CBBC for my grandson which I want to put on my iPhone as I have before. Inserted disc and opened up Handbrake and when pointing to the CD as source I got a message saying it couldn't find VLC. I went to the site and downloaded VLC but then I got a message when trying to import into Handbrake saying that Handbrake was 64 bit and VLC was 32 bit. Cant find 64 bit it looks like its on hold, it said 32 bit would work but when I clicked scan anyway it just took me back to the website. Help please. Lynn

Help > please. Jim's advice on getting the 32-bit Handbrake is sound - you can keep both around if you want. But... I thought Handbrake only used VLC's libraries when it was decrypting a commercial DVD. What exactly is your CBBC programme on, and is it still a file? -- Chris

I have imported from DVD off CBC channel before (Adventures of Sarah Jane) with no problem but when I tried with the 64Bit version it told me about encryption and needing VCL 64 bit! Anyway I've downloaded the 32 bit version again and its done it okay with no messages. Very confusing. I have no idea what is going on as I see no reason for it being encrypted. We have had issues recently where we have found that we are no longer able to tape the football off sky as we used to do the Freeview/DVD recorder gives a message saying it has detected encryption and we cannot record. This just adds to the mystery now. Lynn
